Two Days Before Christmas
Two days before Christmas
We received a surprise.
A snowstorm had arrived
Followed closely by ice.
It covered the sidewalks,
The streets and the wires.
Laid heavy on tree branches
Where our big shock transpired.
A limb broke off our tree
But did not fall to the ground.
Instead it fell across the drive
Where our two cars it found.
It fell on one cars rear windshield,
Broken glass flew everywhere.
But a teddybear still stood regally
Where my daughter had placed it there.
If you talk to dear old santa,
Tell him one thing please for us;
Help us get our two cars fixed
So we won't have to take the bus.
And tell him also
Bring a warm coat please
For our regal bear
Will surely freeze.
