One By One

One by one I've said goodbye

To loved ones I held dear.

I hated so to lose them,

I wanted to keep them here.

But, God in His great wisdom

Called my loved ones home.

They are safe with Him in Heaven

Where no harm will ever come.

No more sorrow nor grief

Not a pain, not a tear.

They now dwell with God

And our Saviour so dear.

I take comfort in thinking

Of the view I shall see.

When God calls me home,

They'll be waiting for me.

With a smile on my face

And great joy in my heart,

I'll join them in Heaven

Where we'll nevermore part.
