Tribute to Magician Everett Duncan
Houdini the magician was the master of his time. But, I knew Everett Duncan, he was a friend of mine.
His art was also magic, He'd leave everyone in awe. His talent pure and simple, in every trick you saw.
He wasn't tall of stature, a small man you could say. But, this man Everett Duncan was "big" in every way.
He'd be the first to offer aid to someone filled with grief. A word of comfort he would give that always brought relief.
His magic was the greatest thing, an art which brought him fame. If I had not known Everett, I would not be the same
He trained a little chicken, Abner was his name. And, a rabbit he called Harvey just added to his fame.
He aimed his show at children. They loved his magic so. He put them in his program which made small faces glow.
He had these little projects he'd say one day he'd do. And, whatever he attempted, would end up just like new.
I thank the Lord that I can say that Everett was my friend. Though I'm sad because he's gone, his memory will never dim.
