If I stepped out

what would I see?

A man, a woman

or an endless sea?

What would I find

so deep inside?

A gentle human

or a raging tide?

Or would it be

the love of Man?

The kindness of words

or touch of a hand?

I just don't know

what I would see.

If once, just once,

I stepped out of me.
