Christmas is a time of joy

A time for gifts and giving

A time of showing others love

A great time to be living

But why must this be happening?

Is there no other way?

Can't we show our love for man

On every other day?

There's no need to buy a present

To show someone you care.

A gift that's more worth giving

Is something you can share.

A smile, a word, a helping hand,

These things you can't deny,

Will mean much more to someone

Than any gift you'd buy.

Christmas can be all year long

When of yourself you give.

Not just this special time of year,

But everyday you live.
