HE LIVES AGAIN
Barren trees against the sky Make me sad ... I don't know why. But their branches are reaching for the clouds Their nakedness somehow to shroud.
All of that seems to remind me: Long ago there was that tree Whose barren limbs held so mournfully The King of Kings who died for me.
That must be why it makes me sad To see a tree -- its branches unclad; No green leaves behind which to hide Its likeness to the one where my Savior died.
But He lives again! Hallelujah to God! So when my body lies beneath the sod, I'll know that my soul will be free Because of the price paid on one barren tree.
